Hmm… there is something terribly familiar about the bracelet above…

Cartier style bracelet

Oh yes, you might recognise this as one of our favourite bracelets – the Cartier-style leopard from Portobello Market!  He has found such a loving home and will now be worn around London by one of the most stylish ladies I know.  She often features as my model here on the blog and with her incredibly edgy and spot-on sense of style she will be able to carry off this lovely piece just the way it deserves!

I was considering making the bracelet smaller, as you can see it is rather wide.  My friend K however pointed out how beautifully drapes down over her hand and becomes a piece of hand jewellery as well, with that cheeky little paw stretching down to the left in the photo above.

I am absolutely delighted that the two have become a match and I can promise you that I will be on the lookout for similar pieces, as it is all about the statements pieces now ladies!

What do you think about statement jewellery?  Do you prefer dainty pieces or massive bling like above?

The Art of Giving

You and I have just received an invitation to a wonderful event tomorrow evening:

Marys Living and Giving Summer Art Auction in Parson Green

I would really love to see you at Mary’s Living and Giving Shop tomorrow evening.  It is just a short trip on the District Line from central London, and Parsons Green is such a gorgeous part of town that it is well worth the visit!  Bring some friends along – make it an evening and go to one of the wonderful restaurants nearby for supper afterwards.  It is a great excuse to come and hang out with us and enjoy some lovely art – all for the greater good: Save the Children.

There are also always amazing bargains to be made and their collection is always excellent:

My London – Fulham

Mighty proud to be featuring some Decades of Elegance-jewellery and a vintage guide to Fulham on the lovely website Londonswedes.  With so many hidden vintage gems in Fulham; Circa VintageDeuxieme and Mary’s Living and Giving Shop – it really is worth a visit!

You can find the full article (in Swedish) here: http://londonsvenskar.com/artiklar/mitt-london-fulham/  and a short translation in English follows here:

Mary’s Living & Giving Shop, 28 New Kings Road

In Marys Living and Giving Shop you can buy designer items with a good conscience, since the profits are used to support Save the Children.  The shop is run by locals, and for example local interior decorators have made the shop look so welcoming, and the cloths donated are in wonderful condition.  You can find anything from dresses to shoes, childrens’ clothes, books as well as nice things for the gentlemen.

Bayley & Sage 34 New King’s Road SW6 4ST

While we were at Mary’s I decided to also pop next door’s to Bayley & Sage – as you can see above, the most wonderful food shop.  This is where you will perfect this weekend’s brunch for example!

Deuxieme, 70 New Kings Road, London SW6 4LT

On New King’s Road you can find beautiful Deuxieme, where you will find everything from designer wear to vintage and second hand – from everyday wear to evening gowns.  Their lovely cafe is perfect for relaxing in between your shopping rounds.

Circa Vintage, 64 Fulham High Street SW6 3QL

Circa Vintage is a wonderful vintage shop on Fulham Road where vintage lovers from near and far go on a pilgrimage for the quality and the unique piece.  The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, so if you adore vintage it really is worth a visit! Below is a photo which was’t included in the article – a glorious vintage dress which I tried on in Circa Vintage:

I fell in love with this beautiful vintage dress at Circa Vintage – £300

As a general rule: don’t be shy to ask me any questions you may have about great vintage places in London.  There are so so many of them and I have only treaded through a fraction, but I will be able to show you some wonderful secrets!
