Elegant and easy hairdos for a fabulous weekend!

It is Friday!  I am sure you have some plans for the weekend – maybe an office Christmas party, dinner with friends or someone’s birthday party?  Well I went to Sweden the other week for a friend’s birthday party and ended up doing hairstyles on all of my lovely girlfriend’s, so I wanted to dedicate today’s post to that:

For L and G’s hair above I used a curling iron starting halfway down on their hair to create some volume.  When you have gone through the whole hair, spray it with for example l’Oreal Elnett as it is not too strong – but the trick is to hold up a few curls and let them fall through the shower of hairspray to allow the hair to separate and settle nicely.  Beautiful on blondes as well as on brunettes of course!

My dear sister is always very adventurous with hairstyles and her stays exactly the way you put it up, so I did a braid which chases around the back of her head and ends up in a side bun.  Such an elegant look which can go from office to dinner to drinks!

As for my other Lady L I just bumped up her hair at the crown of her head for my favourite Audrey Hepburn-look, twisted the two parts at the back and hid the pins under the whole hairdo.  Another elegant yet simple to do hairstyle.

Have a lovely weekend!

A simple and elegant 1950s silver necklace

At the moment I am doing a jewellery search for a friend of mine.  She is looking for a necklace, earrings and a ring, and here is my first find:

1950s silver necklace with some glorious sparkle

The earrings and ring that come with the necklace look just like  this – silver and a sparkling stone – but I will take photos of them this weekend so that you can see for yourself.  Let’s see if my friend likes them or if this exciting search will continue!

The fantastic Future Folklore

You might remember the post about Brighton the other day?  Well are a few of the photos that I took for the Voutique website of the Future Folklore collection.

Who would have know that photographing vintage pieces could be so much fun!?

Trained as a silversmith the wonderful designer Iona designs these amazing pieces, combining vintage and contemporary styles

The colours that she uses are so eye-catching and once you start admiring one piece you will find more and more fascinating little details on the jewellery

I obviously love pearls and here the contrast between the delicate pearls and the skull is just amazing!

This one is so adorable – and how very Alice in Wonderland…!

These stunning feather creations come in a wide range of colours and styles…

Vintage frames are so hot right now!

The other day I had the opportunity to photograph some vintage glasses in Notting Hill for a website and practice my photographic skills!

If you are interested in any of the glasses (the selection is endless, and these are just a few samples) you will soon be able to order them from the Voutique website.  You can also visit the shop in Notting Hill and speak with Rocco who sells these beauties at: 293 Portobello Road, Notting Hill, London W10 5TD

For a wooden look – take your pick!

Burning silver citrine ring

One ring to rule them all – yes I think it looks like the ring is trying to fight the Mordor fires here!

It will definitely be the centre of attention when worn to a dinner party

Oh I am so excited as I have managed to get my hands on this stunning silver cocktail ring, with what I believe is a Citrine stone.  I picked it up in Angel on one of the markets and the lady estimated that it could be from the 50s.

Obviously I couldn’t help but style it up with some very simple winter beauty, in order to capture the orangey colour perfectly.  I hope you love it!
